All or Nothing

Punk and Renaissance. Those were the two words I picked at random, out of a hat, in my Type for Masters class. The assignment? Design an album cover for a band within that genre, inspired by the art movement picked. Punk and...Renaissance?

I picked “All or Nothing” by Pennywise, and decided to use linoleum as my medium. 

I carved out a cropping “The Birth of Venus” by Sandro Botticelli, as well as some type that I sketched out, onto the lino, rolled over some ink, and pressed it.

The resulting prints were scanned, distorted and layered to make the album cover.
